🎉Today is World Kidney Day.🎉![]()
Meet Lockie. He was just 18 months old when he received a kidney from his dad, Calum, at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. He is also one of more than 5000 people who have received a kidney transplant from the West of Scotland Transplant Service.![]()

As part of Healthcare Science Week, we welcomed the Chief Scientific Officer for Scotland, Professor Catherine Ross, to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital campus for a tour. During her time with us, she met Executive Nurse Director Professor Angela Wallace and Healthcare Science Professional Lead Karen Brazier, visited the UK NEQAS Cardiac Markers Lab, held a round-table discussion with Healthcare Science staff, and visited the Little Lab at the Royal Hospital for Children, where young visitors were given a taste of healthcare science.
