As part of ongoing efforts to make it as easy as possible for people to get vaccinated, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has arranged for the vaccination bus to run drop-in clinics at supermarkets alongside other venues in Glasgow including George Square and Scotstoun Leisure Centre.
The bus, which is operated by Scottish Ambulance Service, will offer Moderna to anyone aged 18 – 29 years wishing to receive either a first dose of the vaccine, or anyone who has been waiting more than eight weeks since their first Moderna dose.
AstraZeneca is also available to anyone over the age of 40 years who has either not received a first dose, or has been waiting more than eight weeks for their second dose.
Vaccine bus dates, venues and times:
- Wednesday 4th / Thursday 5th August: 10am – 6pm: Tesco Extra carpark – St Rollox, Cobden Road, Springburn
- Friday 6th August: 10am – 6pm: George Square, Glasgow city centre
- Monday 9th August 10am – 6pm: Scotstoun Leisure Centre, Scotstoun
- Tuesday 10th August: 10am – 6pm: Co-op carpark, Crown Street, Gorbals
The vaccination bus, which recently celebrated delivering more than 10,000 jags, bolsters the current drop-in and appointment centres running across Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
Drop-in centres currently offer Pfizer to people aged 18 to 39. AstraZeneca is also available for people aged 40 and older as a first dose or as a second dose to anyone who is eight weeks from their first AstraZeneca vaccination.
