Call NHS 24 on 111 for healthcare support over Easter weekend

  • 2 min read

Residents of Greater Glasgow and Clyde are being reminded that GP practices will be closed from tomorrow for the Easter long weekend.

The GP Out of Hours service is by-appointment only, and people are advised to contact NHS 24 on 111 if they cannot wait until their GP practice reopens on Tuesday, 22nd April.

Routine medications, including controlled drugs, are not issued by the out of hours service.

Pharmacies should remain open tomorrow on Good Friday, and a number of community pharmacies will be open on Easter Monday. Opening hours for these can be found by visiting Pharmacy Opening Hours – Easter 2025 – NHSGGC.

Every community pharmacy in Scotland provides the Pharmacy First service, offering support and treatment for a range of minor ailments from coughs and colds to earache and heartburn.

Anyone can walk in off the street and be seen, with no appointment necessary.

Pharmacies are an important part of a range of services available to people throughout NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
