Vacancy Request Form

The Vacancy Review Framework (VRF) is a governance process used across NHSGGC to ensure robust oversight of recruitment decisions. All vacancies (new or replacement) must be assessed through the VRF before recruitment can proceed. The VRF helps:

  • Align vacancies to workforce and financial plans

  • Challenge duplication, inefficiency or unnecessary posts

  • Prioritise recruitment where service delivery or patient safety is impacted

  • Support strategic workforce planning and redesign

Each vacancy is considered against current budgets, service pressures and transformation priorities. Managers are expected to provide a clear justification for each role, with evidence of need and affordability.

The process supports workforce sustainability and helps ensure the Board makes best use of its staffing budget.
