The Glasgow Dental Hospital and School is the pre-eminent centre for specialist oral health care, education and research in West and Central Scotland. In addition to its City Centre premises, the Dental Hospital operates from out-reach clinics and surgeries and serves a population of 3 million, from a total of 26 locations.
It is an active participant in joint health promotion initiatives with Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS Board and Primary Care services.
Glasgow Dental Hospital and University of Glasgow Dental School collaborate to provide first-rate training for under and post-graduate dental education. It is also home to the Emergency Dental Treatment Centre for Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Emergency Dental Treatment Centre
The Emergency Dental Treatment Centre is not a walk-in facility and access is by appointment only in daytime, and via NHS 24 in the evenings on 111. Patients who are not registered with a dentist and are seeking emergency treatment during the day should call 0141 314 6323. The evening service at the EDTC can be accessed via NHS24 on 111.

Open: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.15pm for patients who are not registered at a dentist and need emergency treatment, and between 7.30pm – 10.00pm for all emergency dental patients.

Smokefree Zones and Information
It is now an offence for anyone to smoke within 15 metres of an NHS hospital building. This applies to everyone, including staff, patients and visitors to our hospital sites.
The new law applies to all NHS hospital buildings in Scotland and includes all awnings, canopies, or other overhanging structures connected to an NHS hospital building (even if they extend further than 15 metres from an NHS hospital building).
