An Investors in People plaque has been unveiled at the Royal Alexandra Hospital after NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde achieved the accreditation.
IiP is a global benchmark for assessing great places to work and it looks at organisational standards in three broad areas – Improving, Leading and Supporting.
A two-year assessment took in the RAH as part of a ‘Clyde Cluster’, which also includes the Vale of Leven Hospital and Dykebar Hospital.
All site clusters within NHSGGC acute and corporate have successfully completed the IiP assessment and have attained the standard.
In feedback about the Clyde Cluster, IiP said that as a result of improvement efforts, staff were starting to acknowledge elements of “positive change”.
It added: “There is a growing sense that they are being listened to and feel more involved, informed, and have ways to feed back to influence change.”
NHSGGC has now embarked on a three-year cycle during which it is committed to further enhancing its practices and striving for higher levels of the IiP standard – aiming for silver, gold and ultimately platinum accreditation in the years to come.
Melanie McColgan, Director of NHSGGC’s Clyde Sector, said: “I would like to thank all staff across Clyde Cluster for all their support, hard work and dedication to making our sites great places to work.”
Eddie Salmon, Head of Account Management at Investors in People, said: “It’s clear to see the commitment to attracting, developing and retaining colleagues; underpinned by a focus on engagement, learning, and continuous improvement by embracing transformation, innovation and partnership working.”
