September Weekend public holiday reminder

  • 2 min read

Greater Glasgow and Clyde residents are being reminded that many GP practices will be closed on Monday, September 30, for the public holiday.

People who need medicines regularly are encouraged to think ahead and ensure they have an appropriate supply of their repeat prescriptions. Routine medications will not be issued by the Out of Hours service.

Please contact NHS 24 on 111 if you require urgent medical attention and cannot wait until your GP practice opens on Tuesday, October 1 after the September Weekend.

A number of community pharmacies will be open on the holiday Monday and information on this can be found here: Pharmacy – NHSGGC

Every community pharmacy in Scotland provides the Pharmacy First service, offering support and treatment for a range of minor ailments from coughs and colds to earache and heartburn.

Anyone can walk in off the street and be seen, with no appointment necessary.

Pharmacies are an important part of a range of services available to people throughout NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
