  • Alcohol Brief Interventions: A Review of Strategy and Recommendations for Policy
  • Alcohol Change UK is a UK charity that focuses entirely on reducing alcohol harm, working across the whole range of serious alcohol harms, from mental and physical to societal and economic. Driven by their vision of a world with no serious alcohol harm, they work to create five evidence-based changes.
  • Institute of Alcohol Studies is an independent body bringing together evidence, policy and practice from home and abroad to promote an informed debate on alcohol’s impact on society. Their purpose is to advance the use of the best available evidence in public policy decisions on alcohol. 
  • Alcohol Focus Scotland  (AFS) are the national alcohol charity working to reduce harm caused by alcohol. AFS promote evidence-based, cost-effective policy measures. AFS research and develop policies informed by academic research and the real-life experiences of people affected by alcohol and campaign for change. They provide accurate and accessible information about alcohol to the media, policymakers, practitioners and the general public.  AFS offer training to workplaces, teachers and early years practitioners, support workers and people working in the regulation of licensing.
  • Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services – NHSGGC provides a range of treatment and care options for individuals who are affected by their own or someone else’s alcohol and/or drug use.
  • NHS Inform website provides information on the health risks of alcohol and tips on cutting down.
  • With You offer a live chat service seven days a week to speak about drugs, alcohol or mental health.
  • Drinkline Helpline Scotland provides advice for anyone who is worried about their own or someone else’s drinking. Call 08007314314.
  • Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol & Drugs is a national charity that support families across Scotland who are affected by a loved one’s substance use and raise awareness of the issues affecting them.

  • LGBT Health and Wellbeing – Scotland’s health and wellbeing charity for LGBTQ+ adults. Working to improve the physical, social, and mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ adults (16+) in Scotland.
