A group of ladies, all about to reach a milestone birthday, decided to celebrate by raising money for The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.
Last week they finally handed over a cheque for £3,155 to the Hospice which was raised at a ‘Gin & Jammies’ night at St Patrick’s Church Hall.
The ladies all work at the Vale of Leven Hospital as nursing staff and this year are either 40, 50 or 60 years of age. They wanted to use their birthdays to raise money for this worthwhile cause as one of them had recently lost a close relative to breast cancer.
Paula Currie, Senior Charge Nurse said: “We wanted to raise money for the hospice for the tremendous work they do supporting patients and their families.
“We had a wonderful response to our request for raffle prizes with over 80 companies stretching from Glasgow to Helensburgh and far too many to mention individually.
“We would like to thank each any every one of them who provided a donation and helped us achieve over £3,000 on the night.”
